About Paranoise
Paranoise is a curated vinyl archive based in Vancouver, BC.
We stock underground electronic music exclusively — techno, house, electro, ambient, EBM, industrial, IDM, dub techno, minimal, breakbeat, and experimental. Every record is manually selected. No genre fillers. No commercial crossovers.
The archive started as a personal collection. It became a store because good records should circulate.
We ship across Canada and internationally. All records are condition-graded and described accurately. If something is wrong with your order, we make it right.

Come in and dig properly.
Paranoise is not built for endless scrolling. It is a room for listening, touching, flipping, asking, disappearing into sleeves, labels, notes, dust, pressure, pulse. Some records don’t explain themselves online. They wait for the right hand, the right system, the right moment.
The archive is alive in person. Come hold the pulse.

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about ordering, grading, and the music.
Shipping & Delivery
Do you offer free shipping?
Yes — orders within Canada of $200 CAD or more ship free. We use Canada Post for domestic orders. Orders under $200 CAD are charged a flat rate based on weight and destination.
For international shipping rates, see our shipping policy.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. We ship to most countries worldwide. International shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on your location and order weight. Please note that international customers are responsible for any applicable import duties or taxes.
How long does shipping take?
Canadian orders typically arrive within 3–7 business days after dispatch. US orders take roughly 7–14 business days. International orders vary by destination and can take 2–5 weeks.
All orders are dispatched within 1–2 business days of purchase. You'll receive a tracking number by email once your order ships.
Can I pick up my order locally?
Yes — local pickup is available in Vancouver, BC. Select "Local Pickup" at checkout and we'll reach out with pickup details. Our location is at 129-2111 Main St, Vancouver.
How are records packaged for shipping?
Every record ships in a dedicated record mailer — stiff cardboard with corner protection — to prevent bending or seam splits in transit. We do not re-use flimsy packaging. Your records arrive in the same condition they left us.
Condition & Grading
How do you grade your records?
We use the Goldmine Grading Standard: Mint (M), Near Mint (NM), Very Good Plus (VG+), Very Good (VG), Good (G), and Poor (P). Every record is graded visually and play-tested where possible. We err on the side of conservative grading — if we're unsure, we grade down.
Grades are listed separately for the vinyl and the sleeve/jacket. When a record lists "NM/VG+" that means the vinyl is Near Mint and the jacket is Very Good Plus.
What does VG+ sound like on playback?
A VG+ record plays cleanly with minimal surface noise. You may hear occasional light ticks between tracks or in quieter passages, but nothing that intrudes on the music itself. VG+ is the standard grade for used records that are fully playable and enjoyable.
Are your records cleaned before listing?
Yes. Records that come to us dirty or dusty are cleaned before grading and listing. We use a record cleaning machine to remove surface debris that affects both grading accuracy and playback. What you read in the condition notes reflects the record after cleaning.
Do you sell new (sealed) records?
Yes. We stock a mix of new/sealed pressings alongside used records. New records are listed as Mint (M) or Sealed (S). Used records always include condition notes on both the vinyl and jacket.
Returns & Issues
What is your return policy?
If you receive a record that doesn't match its listed condition, contact us within 7 days of delivery and we'll make it right — either a full refund or an exchange. We stand behind our grading.
We don't accept returns based on personal preference (i.e. you changed your mind about the music), but if there's a legitimate discrepancy, we want to hear about it.
What if my record arrives damaged in transit?
Shipping damage is rare given how we package orders, but if it happens, photograph the damage (packaging and record) and email us at info@paranoise.store within 48 hours of delivery. We'll file a claim and sort out a replacement or refund for you.
My tracking shows delivered but I haven't received my order — what do I do?
First check with neighbours or building management — carriers sometimes leave packages with a neighbour or in a common area. If the record still hasn't turned up after 48 hours, email us and we'll investigate with the carrier.
The Catalogue
What genres do you carry?
We focus on underground electronic music and its outer edges: Techno, House, Ambient & Drone, Breakbeat & Electro, Industrial & EBM, IDM, Post-Punk & New Wave, Avant-garde, and more. Our selection spans classic pressings, current releases, and deep catalogue digs — no mainstream pop, no filler.
How often do you add new records?
We restock regularly — typically multiple times per week. The best way to stay on top of new arrivals is to check the New Arrivals page or follow us on Instagram @paranoise.store.
Most of your stock seems to be one copy only — is that intentional?
Yes. Around 80% of what we stock is a single copy — a natural result of curating used and collector-grade records. If something catches your eye, don't wait. When it's gone, it's usually gone for good.
Can I request a specific record or artist?
We don't take formal want-list orders, but feel free to reach out at info@paranoise.store — if something you're looking for comes through our crates, we're happy to let you know.
Pulse Notes
What is Pulse Notes?
Pulse Notes is our editorial channel — short-form writing about records we love, artists worth knowing, and sounds we keep returning to. Think of it as notes from the listening room: honest, specific, and free of marketing language.
Records featured in a Pulse Note are marked with a badge on their product listing. Read Pulse Notes →
Can I submit a record for a Pulse Note?
We only write about records we carry and have listened to ourselves — Pulse Notes aren't sponsored or paid placements. If you're a label or artist and want to talk about getting your music in front of the Paranoise audience, email us at info@paranoise.store.
Other

Do you have a physical storefront?
We're primarily an online shop, but we're based in Vancouver, BC. Local pickup is available — reach out to arrange it. We also occasionally appear at record fairs and events in the city; follow us on Instagram for announcements.
